Happy Pi Day everyone!
For this special occasion, I took this one out for its inaugural spin around the block. er.. face. And I just had to make it my first SOTD.
Soap - Cella in D.R.Harris Bowl
Brush - Silvertip by Fendrihan
Strop - English Bridle & Felt by ClassicEdge
Razor - TI Oak Wing G # 314
A/S - After Shave Balm by Nivea For Men
Perfume - Pi by Givenchy
Now I'm off to find some pie.
Cheers.

Todays smoothness was achieved with the following...
Pre : Hot water
Brush : Progress Vulfix 404
Soap : Mitchells Wool Fat
Razor : Merkur 15C
Blade : Derby
Post : Nivea Sensitive balm
Sounds : The Milligan Papers
Comments :
I'm puzzled as to the fuss about this soap being so difficult to lather up. A bit of warm water dropped onto the soap, shake the excess off the brush, and Bobs your proverbial uncle. I had no difficulty, and I live in a hard water area.
Now to give my face a rest for a while; it's still complaining from yesterdays attack of the feather.~ Dave ~ ... back to lurking...

03-14-2013, 04:34 PM #155Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Polo by Simpson
Razors: Iwasaki + GEM Micromatic
Soap: Nannys
AS: Stratos
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean
Lovely soap and AS + the Iwasaki's one smooth razor (easy the smoothest kamisori I ever shaved with) and it wiped three days stubble away like nothing (it was several years since I didn't shave for three days in a row). Welcome to the SOTD Pi!
Mondays SOTD (cheers to MrMagnus for letting me have a go at a vintage Bartmann, fantastic razor, but yet again I now "need" another razor):

03-14-2013, 11:11 PM #159Razor: Thursday's member of a 7 day spike set
Hones: King 1.2k, Norton 4/8, Naniwa 12k, 100 felt, 100 horsehide, 100 Cowhide, 5 strokes on O2
Lather: RazoRock XXX
Post: Lucky Tiger Splash
AS: Old Spice
Edt: Cuba Gold
These razors have been all gathered, restored and honed by me. I've managed to work thru to Thursday out of the set, but it's taken me 3 weeks to get to Thursday. Spikes are great little wedge shavers, and I love my set. Many folks from here contributed to this set (Tom! Rene', others) and I took great pride in gathering them all together and restoring the whole set.
Today's shave was a special one for me. My oldest son is done with advanced training in the Army (Warrant II, Heli pilot, Sqaud Leader) and has some time and is coming in tomorrow for dinner and fellowship. I can't wait.
Did I mention he has 6 Daughters?
That's right, tomorrow there will be 8 women and 2 men in the house for the whole nite. The estregen alone may be toxic!! LOL.
I only get to shave once or twice a week these days, work schedule is just so hectic. I'm making a special effort today so I'll look and smell good for all these granddaughters!@
My youngest some gets out of it cuz he has to work.
I won't be able to post again for a while, but I sure enjoy it when I can guys.
Have a great weekend!!
