Todays SOTD was really a test run for my new purchases...

Pre : Old Spice pre-shave wash
    Soap : Proraso green tub
    Brush : Progress Vulfix 404
    Razor : Merkur Futur
    Blade : Feather
Post : Cold water, alum block
    Moisturiser : Nivea sensitive

    Comments :
Proraso... how I've missed that scent! Excellent soap. Thankfully its menthol has been toned down, but it's still there. The Vulfix 404 is scrubby, thankfully. Hopefully though, it'll soften up a bit over time.

Having done some research, I loaded the Futur with a Feather blade, and set the razor to 2. I was pleasantly surprised; no hint of the alleged viciousness on the WTG strokes, and so cranked the razor up to 4 for the ATG strokes. Oops.

Overall, that's £19 well spent; the blades were a freebie.

Yea, it sure doesn't take much to go from mild to wild when you make a setting change on an adjustable DE. I think the big advantage of an adjustable DE is the ability to tune a blade to perform to your liking.

You can always use the butt crack to nicely hold the razor in place

Well played, sir. A straight shave by a beautiful woman is quite exhilarating. Era squisito.

    Cheers,

Sorry for the poor and simple image, I don't have much experience in photographing razors..
