    Razors: 1) Cadman Bengall 5/8 2) Vom Cleef 13/16
    Hones: Norton 4K/8K, Zulu Grey
    Brush: Cangooner #1
    Cream: Body Shop Maca Root
Scuttle: Robert Baker 002 in Lava Slate
    Shave: 3 passes, WTG/XTG/ATG
    Astringent: Thayer's
    A/S: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

I decided the other day to pass on my Bengall to a new straight shaver here in town. It's a great little razor, but was sitting here unused and neglected. So I took it to the hones to get it ready and figured I might as well take the opportunity to get my long-neglected Vom Cleef ready to go as well. Both turned out pretty nicely. I just love the shape of the Vom Cleef: barber's notch, thumb notch, jimping, and kind of wedge-y.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Prep - Hot water + shave towel
    Pre-Shave - Musgo Real Glyce
    Brush - Dad's old brush
    Soap - Proraso
Razor - De Haven safety razor
Post - Thayers + Nivea balm

I liked the Proraso much better the second time around, I guess you get used to it pretty quickly. Just to be different I shaved with a De Haven safety razor tonight. Those proprietary blades can be a real pain to get good and sharp, and the built in "shake sharp" mechanism is quite the contraption I did mine by hand on a hone, and after a whole lot of dialing in, the thing gives a good 3 pass shave.

    Wednesday

    Razor | J A Hellberg Frameback | Cream | Body Shop Macca Root | After Shave | D. R. Harris Bay Rum

Body Shop Macca Root shave cream is magic.
I don’t mean that it’s good, which it undoubtedly is, I mean it’s magic.
    Magic as in abracadabra.
Magic as in The Magic Pudding.
Magic as in ‘Why The Sea is Salt’.
I used the tiniest amount and yet it was enough.

I think there’s no limit. I think you could half the amount of Body Shop Macca Root shave cream you squirt into a bowl ad infinitum and always have just enough.

It’s magic I say and I’ll fight anyone who says it isn’t!!!
