I am very pleased Paul. After a shave-break yesterday the shave was again first class today.
Thanks for the great pics and shaving reports in this thread! This is very interesting and entertaining.

Mama Bear Orange Orange - Zebra Wood Silvertip - G. Butler & Co - Nautica Blue - L'Occitane Badian

I was reading one of Carls SOTD posts the other day and he was angry with himself about putting hnoe wear on his wedge. It instantly reminded me of my G. Butler wedge. When I first got it (a very cheap ebay grab) I put a edge on it to make sure it would take an edge - it had some rust on the edge. I put tape on the spine, honed it carefully as it was warped a bit and it took a nice edge. I then did a bit of hand sanding on it to get rid of the rust on razor.

After I had done as much sanding as I wanted (or I got sick of doing it) I tried to hone it again. Same method as before and I just couldn't get the edge back. After 7 or 8 attempts I just gave up trying to hone around the warp and just honed through it. It has a nice edge again.

So Carl, it could be worse

The very first shave since I received the razor, I somehow knew this razor would deliver a great shave, and without fail she did not disappoint, as with my other folding Kamisori this ones a keeper for sure.

I call this razor the 'Velvet Squeegee' and with good reason, another fantastic silky sticky smooth outstanding shave! The Mike's Lemongrass/Eucalyptus is almost gone and it will definitely be replaced, great suds. This razor was a gift from my son and the only one I have with Ivory scales, just a beautiful piece.

Sort of almost looks like a Kamisori, doesn't it? The profile?

    Hi Carl,

The grind is exactly the same as the one piece Kamisori, only difference these have scales to me they are a little more refined than the traditional Kamisori.
