Great looking brush Richard, always want one of those Rubbereset or Dubl Duck barber style brushes.

Default Sad shave today, in memory of ...

    HI folks,

Lost a friend and fellow member this week. Today's shave is in his memory.

Don made these scales almost 2 years ago. Posted up the restore and recieved a lot of mixed reviews. However, I loved the design and originality of my 'dog bone' razor. When he offered it for sale, I snagged it up and a friendship was born.

Anyone who has seen this razor before never forgets it. It is one of my favorites and it shaves even better than it looks.

Here is my homage to Don Bellanger (Donjcschilde). RIP Bro.

Razor: W&B Dog Bone Burled Maple by Don Bellanger
Lather: TOBS with a touch of Spieck
    As: Lucky Tiger Splash, OBR
    EdC: Cuba Gold

I wanted to celebrate not only (almost!) getting over a cold that has been kicking my butt since Wednesday, but also the return of sunshine and the promise of spring. We had an unusually late and heavy snowfall late last week that had a lot of people down in the dumps in these parts. With any luck at all it won't be long now before those trees in the park across the street will be getting green.

And of course - Happy Birthday Carl!

    Have a great week everybody.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

    Sunday afternoon shave:

    Hot shower,Warm Oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    Custom Badger Brush
    Cade Shave Cream
Dubl Duck, 5/8 Spike Point, Hand Forged,Blackened Hammered tang "Ilium B&B Supply Co." by Glen
    Ambrose Strop, 100 Laps
    Razorock Aluminum
    Vaseline for men

Nice afternoon shave with hot towels and a wonderful edge on that razor. Glen did the honing and I have to say the edge just keeps amazing me. At my request, he finished the edge on an Escher. I would spend the money on an Escher if I thought it was the stone but I'm certain it is Glen's ability to hone on the Escher.

I found my long lost brother today and included him in the photo. Enjoy your day.

I finally decided to reset the factory bevel which was pain in the ass but the DMT helped immensely. The spine was not completely wearing even on one side. I did my best to correct the issue. All and all the bevel reset worked well and the Grelot is shaving like a champ now. I wish I had done so sooner. All and all just another shave in the wall that was magnificent. O yeah, happy b-day Carl.
