    Default 23rd June 2013

I don't usually get to spend as long as I would like shaving (work tends to interfere) but today I decided to go all out, and also get a SOTD post up. Shave consisted of 2 pass WTG & ATG.

Prep : Hot Shower followed by lemon grass scented hot towel
    Soap: C&E "Sienna"
    Brush: Omega Boar
Razor : JR "Royal Razor" In Ivory
Post Shave : Lemon grass hot towel
After Shave : Aramis "Cool Blend"

    SUNDAY
May this week bring you all some of what you wish and all of what you need!

    Hot shower prep
Razor: F.W.E. rescaled by Dirty Chrome
    Soap: Tet-A-Tet Russian
    Mug: Firehouse Pottery
    Brush: Firehouse Pottery
    Aftershock: none
    Splash: Bay Rum

The day? Overcast and warm. The Shave? A quiet and pleasant removal of stubble. I like former SovBloc shave products. They are no nonsense and do the job well. The Razor was added to a forum giveaway by Dirty Chrome and the Shave bowl / brush were commissioned at Firehouse Pottery by Whiskey Pete for the same giveaway. I was the lucky recipient. Thanks guys wherever you are!
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

    Prep: Hot Shower
Razor: Hart 7/8, Satin Finish Square Point
    Strop: SRD Prem I
    Brush: Semogue 610
    Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna
    A/S: Crabtree & Evelyn Balm

Result: Excellent Sunday morning shave. It's a bit cool and breezy today, unusual for this time of year, so I went with some balm instead of an aftershave splash. Now my face feels good and my soul content (though not because of the shave). Off to church with my family. You all have a great Sunday.

    Pre-Prep: 2 cups of coffee
    Prep: Hot Shower
    Pre-Shave: Somerset's English Shave Oil
    Soap: Van Der Hagen
Bowl: Wooden Lidded Bowl of Indeterminate Manufacture
Brush: Boar Hair Brush of Indeterminate Manufacture
Strop: Nicked, Ripped, and Chipped Strop of Indeterminate Manufacture - 30 passes webbing, 60 passes leather
Razor: Vintage John Primble 1091 Extra Hollow Ground
    Astringent: Generic Witch Hazel
    Post-Shave: Neutrogena Razor Defense Lotion

Got a bit of a slow start this morning. I got out of the shower, put on my pants, and realized I forgot my strop so I pocked my razor (mistake) and went to grab my strop. When I reached to get my razor out of my pocket for stropping it had fallen open slightly and I got about a half inch cut on my index finger. The rest of the shave went fine but the damaged finger prevented me from trying a few new strokes I had been meaning to. (scything strokes on the neck).

Now off to launder my shirts and slacks, and polish my boots.
