The first few days on a new blade are a bit tricky. After that the blades are much more forgiving, yet still very sharp. You may also want to consider using Schick Injector blades in the AC, they very forgiving but also a bit shorter so you have to centre it in the holder.

I bench honed this razor and a couple others with my new chromium oxide setup last night and couldn't wait to try it. I liked the results a lot, the blade did have a softer feel to it as Mr. Parker and others have mentioned. I don't think the blade is necessarily sharper than before but the sense of wiping off whiskers was enhanced. I'm a believer, have a bunch of blades waiting their turn on the green leather now.
