Celtic, you said "I wouldn't fancy using it with a stainless steel handle though". Care to expand on that? I am on the Mongoose waiting list and thought I would prefer the SS handle[s] to the Ti ones. Since you've had yours for a few weeks, I assume you've used it. Can you share something from the experience? Balance ok?

Traskrom, did you order your Mongoose with the anodizing, or have it done after-market. I like the looks of that anodizing...

I've ordered directly from manufacturer. This is not anodizing BTW, it's polished stainless steel.

Mine should be here next week, along with a pack of Feather Pro's, which I'll try but doubt I'll use, and coming from the eBay, a pack of Kai Captain Titan Mild, which is great to be able to use different blades.

I like to use a safety razor once in awhile, but would prefer the larger shaving area and the single edge - from what I've read, much closer to the straight razor experience.

Yeah to me the Mongoose with the stainless steel handle is far to heavy once you switch to the Hempel Titanium handle which happens to be half the weight of the stainless steel the razor comes into it's own It's a great razor and a fantastic shave, I personally found the angle came instinctively a very easy razor to use.

I actually prefer a heavier handled razor, after looking for a while finally found the fully polished super stainless steel razor, want it to feel as close to a big Sheffield as possible....what type of blade are you using?

I'm using the Feather Pro Andrew I've always loved the way they shave and you can get as many as 10 to 15 good shaves from one blade.

Mine just arrived along with an NOS unopened Vintage Old Spice Flask - this is one mighty big SE, think I'll try the Feather Super Pro blade first for tomorrows shave.
