As I predicted...they are. I ordered and received my Mongoose and some Feather Pro blades. It is a "piece of work" in the best sense of the expression, not like the disparaging way I use it about people when it isn't polite to call them a--h---s.
It fits the hand well, with just a little heft. The finish is beautiful and since I hadn't shaved with a SE blade since Schick injector days, I was reminded how a stiff tight blade fit, when perfectly aligned like it is in a Mongoose, made such a pleasure out of shaving. It is now # 7 in my rotation after 6 wonderful SRs, which are still my first loves, but WOW, what a great razor! Watch for the new rotation in the Great Experiment thread.Just call me Harold

I had a shave with an adjustable Fatboy and a Gillette Silver Blue about a week ago, was a very nice close shave with a DE after the Mongoose got miffed at me and bit me on the side of the neck with a Feather Pro, I rightly grew wary, and gave it a time out...
Couple of days later, I buried that Feather Pro Blade in the back yard and popped in a Feather Pro Guard, and right off the bat it felt very similar to a Gillette Silver Blue, smooth, close and the result was an easy BBS.
If I was in this for a wet shaving system alone and landed on the Mongoose, that would be it - it's the Kwisatz Haderach of DE/SE shavers!

I can't use a straight very well just yet. So, it's been DEs for the last few months.
A little arm surgery keeping me from moving a straight blade in all direction needed. It's a dog eat dog world and I have on milk bone underwear.

That does not look like a little arm surgery scareface. I hope you heal up just fine.
I have not used one of my straights in a month and a half since the mongoose arrived. I use it with the feather pro and just relax and let the mongoose do the shaving. I cannot find any thing not to like about it.Bob
