Thread: Straight Shavers ! Beware Of The Mongoose Single Edge Safety Razor !!

Nothing takes the place of my straights. I just don't get the same feeling or enjoyment using any other razors then my straights. I have 7 straights some old most new in my rotation but I try to throw in a OneBlade or Mongoose for a change of pace. My new Mastro Livi is a work of art and shaves better then anything I have shaved with.

I agree with you on everything but the Feather blades. I use the Feather Pros when I use the Mongoose, and for me they're very effective and comfortable. I think they it may be a "your face may vary" issue. We're all different, so what's fine for one of us, might not work for another. Right now I've redicated myself to my SRs, so my Mongoose is resting. I love SRs more than any other method, but my Mongoose is in a strong 2d place.

Based on all these positive comments, I have a Mongoose with a Maggard handle on the way. I ain't bought a safety razor in a long time, but the Mongoose really intrigued me. Since I haven't shaved my face in 2 years, it will be put to the test! Instead of finishing my finishing my straight shave with a safety razor, I may have to flip that method 180.

I have had the Mongoose for about 2 months now and it gives a great shave.I really like the Kai Titan Mild blades in this razor. Not to crazy about the handle that came with the razor going to replace it with a M5 handle from Maggards when they are in stock again. I would highly recommend this razor.
