Thanked: 12And in the very last Rolls Razors that I opened the box and read the instruction booklet I found a picture of the Rolls Shaving Handles..J1 - Non-Telescopic Type, J2 - Telescopic Type extended, J3 - Telescopic Type collapsed. But I still don't have a Telescopic Type in my collection...but I'm gonna keep on looking...Hope that these pictures helps you-all.

Thanked: 12And finally after searching the antique shops and the internet, I found a Telescopic Type handle for my Rolls Razor collection. Thanks all for bringing this item up in discussion.

Thanked: 12When I hone the blade on a stone I do not remove the safety guard. They are very hard to get back on if removed. Good Luck

Thanked: 12Clock, man am I glad you said that- I was a bit skeered to mess with the guard. I will give this used blade a try on the hones as is- WIll inspect with a lighted loupe and try my best to determine where to start 1K or 4K.
I put some neatsfoot on the strop and it sucked it up pretty fast.
What about the little hones in the RR. THink they would benefit from a little oil or water when being used?

Thanked: 0I often put my Rolls blade on a "finish" hone for a few trips.
I suggest keeping the guard on the blade and laying the blade on the hone as it would be normally. By gently pressing down, the blade "snap" into position exactly as it does when you utilize the Rolls hone.
That way, you are certain to maintain the angle.

I'm new to the rolls razors. And was thinking about this. If you hone on a regular hone do you use tape to adjust the angle since in the rolls case the back of the blade is not touching the hone.
I can't seem to get mine quite sharp enough to shave with.
Hope my question makes sense.
BTW I have three of them and the handles are different on 1, 2 have 2 part handles and 1 has a 3 part handle. I imagine all of them would have to be at least 2 parts to be able to screw onto the blade.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

The ones I've played with didin't need any tape. If you're using their hone it doesn't matter if you hone it without tape before, honing with tape is what may cause problems.
Pretty straightforward to check though - markers are plentiful and cheap.
