hmmm...well maybe I'm just a naysayer, but I've found the Gillette 7 O'clocks to be quite irritating and have only had marginal success with Feathers. Everyone's experience is different.
For me:
1. Astra SP
2. Personna (Red Pack)
3. Derby
4. Dorco
5. Merkur (for lack of any other options)

2. See above.
3. See above.
4. See above.
5. See above.~ Dave ~ ... back to lurking...

Thanked: 270- Medical Personna
- Astra SP
- Feather
- Gillette 7 o'Clock
- Derby
Those might be the only five I have tried, and I've only tried the Gillette and Derby because some nice seller threw in a couple of packs with a DE razor purchase.

Gillette Swedes from a few years ago. I don't know if they still make them.
Feather. All I have now is a bunch of Feathers I bought back in '06. Rarely shave with a DE so they ought to last awhile.

I only use a DE when I'm in a hurry. Normally it's loaded with Feathers or Gillette 7 o clock's

Thanked: 11951. Feather
2. Crystal/Personna
3. Gillette Bleue
4. Astra
5. Derby
EDIT: uh-oh, I just read that the Bleues have been discontinued! They really are fantastic. Some reviews say they were comparable with the also defunct Swedes (which I was unfortunately not able to try ). At least I have a few left, which I'll have to use sparingly....

Thanked: 11Hi guys. I have tried more than 5 different blades, but only two will be in my top :
1. Astra SP
2. Feather
They suit my skin alike, but I like the Astra better because of its price which really is a steal. The Feather may be a little sharper, and I think this is the only reason why I like it at all. The other stainless steels I have tried felt really not nice to my skin. I guess the absolute sharpness of this one makes it suitable. I don't think a razor blade can be too sharp. The sharper, the more flawless the edge, leading, or so I believe, to less irritation (cuts hair without effort and in less passes = job done without need to bother your skin with more touch ups or more pressure).
The Astra SP seems slightly less effective, but I feel like the coating makes up for it in terms of feel as I shave.
