I just bought a Diane shavette for $5 yesterday, very cheap and poorly made yet I had a great shave with it and wish I would have started my journey to straight with a shavette. I've gone through a lot of trouble honing and even making my own razors I'm still just mainly getting bad shaves after a year of this. I'll work with the shavette for awhile now.
I just got my first shavette with my shave points from Shaving Shack. Its a Bluebeard's Revenge. The shavette seems well built, I used it for the first time last night. the shave was close I got a few nik and cuts but that was down to my low skill level, but I will keep at it. I also have a CJB on order to put my toe in the water before I get a Feather or straight
I think this thread need to be resurrected sooooooooooo !! boom. lets hear it people...
I have for some time been using a fully chromed IBC(Irving Barber Co.) shavette.ets hear
It uses three different types of blades including my favorite the split DE blades.
I've been using the "Sharp" brand, gives a very smooth shave if you do your
part, lots of good face prep and a very light touch!!! It has the heft and balance of straight
razor without the honing and stroping required, I love shaving with it, any one else out there
own one of the IBC shavette Said?? Let's hear from you!
I've been having fun using the Razorine lately. Takes full de blades and does a wonderful job. Only con is that it can be troublesome to hold onto if the handle gets wet.
