Thanked: 171And 95% of those switched to cartridge razors when these came out.
I have gotten used to the idea that we are in a minority here…
Regarding shavettes, I don’t care much for these contraptions with they exception of the Feather AC series (and similar). At least these feel like straight razors.
For me (and I know some may vehemently disagree with me, which is fine), shavettes don’t feel like true straight razors and I consider them essentially neck shavers adapted for face shaving purposes.

Whatever. Trillions of dollars wasted in the first place if you ask me.
I have nothing against shavettes. I have a few and they work fine. It's not the same as a straight but neither are a lot of other things. For me I enjoy honing, stropping, the ritual, it's all part of the attraction.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Even though this post is seven years old, I'm surprised that nobody has brought up the fact that these shavettes are Feathers, which is just a half of a DE. The fact is that they make them that are truly disposable straight razors, not just a half of a DE,and if you're using one you'd be better off with a DE,and you wouldn't have to break a razor in half, you could just switch sides. If you want a shavette to learn how to use a straight, Wick makes a shavette that is just about the same size as a real straight.
Just a little food for thought...

Most if not all of the disposable straights I have are Wecks. Those work pretty well and I like them better than the de type. They do shave a little differently but then so do different traditional straights. To me it's more about the process.
