Do I have to choose only one. I hate getting any lather on my hands or the brush handle. That part is very neat. However I have no problem getting lather blobs scattered around the counter here and there. It does get cleaned up once I am done shaving. So I'm both neat and messy at the same time.

The only thing I would add to this statement is it seems like my nose and ear get lathered up also. I really don't want to shave either.

I can see it now, Obie's next literary masterpiece "A Messy love Affair with a Messy Shaver".

I keep things pretty much in order. Maybe a little drip here and there but it's all under control.

I shave before my shower so it doesn't make a bit of difference.

And I have admitted long ago that my modeling days are over.

I do try to keep the soap/water out of the pivot area for maintenance reasons but that is part of life.

I am grooming myself in my personal space, Why would I wear any clothes that and worry about getting them messy?

A sharp blade in the hands of merciless gravity is a GREAT reason to wear underwear or pajama bottoms or shorts...

I keep things very neat during the shave. There's usually nothing on the brush handle or anywhere close to the pivot on the razor.
Dry hands are a must for me.

If shaving turns you on that much I could maybe understand...

    Hello Robin.

    What is "messy"?

I think I explained it fully in my introductory post.

    Stay well, my friend.

Neat and tidy, no mess and no dripping, dry hands razor and brush. I put the lather where I want it and as I shave the razor is wiped clean on my towel. I have shaved in a tee shirt and not have a drop on it. So I guess I,m a neat freak.. Tc

    Hah!

I am messy with water on the counter, especially preshave whisker wetting portion. Mainly because my hair retains an abnormal amount of water. I can usually keep the lather off of the counter and mirror, but it tends to encroach my facial hair/sideburns. I should wipe it away, as I bungle my burns but never the 'goat'. Water is away from the pivot, as far as I know. With fairly dry hands, and a reasonable amount of effort to keep the stream away.
