A really good tip for learning to shave the chin is to grab a tennis ball or a baseball and practice shaving the roundness of the ball but obviously not touching it. The motion is similar to shaving the chin and will help build the tactile ability to take on the roundness of the chin. Very similar motion. And as already said, light pressure and shorter strokes at first.
