Nope: I came to SR shaving as a part of conscious attempt to slow down the pace of my life and to make more chores in it into enjoyable experiences. It succeeded, became a part of my lifestyle, and I can see absolutely no reason to go back.

P.S. On a related topic: I wouldn't like to hijack this thread, but how many of us do you think in the general population?
I'd say (a wild guess of mine) that about 1% of wet shavers are using shaving brush, 5% of them are not using cartridges, and may be 1% of them are SR shavers. Given that about 75% of the men shave (others are either too young or just don't), and 2/3 of them are not using electric shavers - it gives us that only about 400 people in the US are predominantly SR shavers.
    What's your take on it?

Only 400 of us? Thats a low number. Would be cool to find out a real percentage.

No, i wouldnt buy or even try one if it was given to me. Like Pete, i got too much invested in this hobby and the fun of fixing up razors and the zen in the shave is worth more than if someone even suppled me with a life time of carts for free.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

Of course when I posed this I already knew the answer I'd see.

If anyone said they would switch or even hinted at it I would have been shocked.

For me I'd never even consider it though at present since I'm on blood medication I mainly use a DE. The slightest nick just is too much of a hassle to deal with.

I think for most of us it's a link to the past and the right and proper way to do it. In the same vein I always carry a pocketwatch.

So, this brings us to the logical question which is what other things do you do the old fashioned way and why.

    No sir!
I couldn't say it better than what you guys wrote, I was nodding the whole time.
Now if I decide to shave my head regularly then I'll probably try some options starting with a DE. Though some of those fancy flexible shavers are tempting for the curve of a skull.
But as for my face, I'd just go back to hair clippers if not a SR.

    Why not all three?

I use straight razors and have a flip-phone.
Don't text and use a Mr Coffee!

I do it because it makes me happy

If there are only 400 of us then I know most of them at least from SRP.
