Thread: shaving at night

I would love to shave in the morning. As I posted
earlier, I am just not a morning person. I
would love to start the day with a nice shave
though rather than just drag my out of bed and slap
water on my face. I end up showering when I get to work.
Just wondering, does anyone else
notice their face to be swollen or a little bloated
in the am? I wonder if that would affect
the shave?

I have 2 good reasons for shaving at night..
1) I'm not a morning person and hate doing anything in the morning
2) I take my showers before I go to sleep. Showering is like giving yourself a hot-towel treatment without having to spend the time/effort to do it, so I get a better shave if I do it right after taking a shower.
By the way, having a few hours of down-time before going to work is great for both gushers and weepers. The weepers will be gone after you wash your face in the morning and the gushers.. You have plenty of time to stop the bleeding and not mess up your work shirt (which is a non-factor for me since I work in the mining industry and a pint of blood collected in the clothing wouldn't really upset my coworkers)

So.....maybe we should start a Night Shaver Brotherhood?
I too shave mostly at night. Why?
- For me it's a great way to close the day.
- I can take my time and enjoy the 45min-1hr it seems to take me from start to finish.
- Since it seems to take me 45min-1hr from start to finish, it really bugs my wife if I say I have to shave before we go anywhere on weekends.
- It's "me time" at night alone and apart from my wife and kids when the house is quite and solitary rather than a morning preparation for work.

I shave at night. Why?
First, no rush or hurry. Plenty of time for prep and to enjoy the shave. Second? I get to enjoy the scent of whatever shave soap/cream and a/s I use. I don't hop in the shower and wash it off.

I shave night because I still don't know how long it will take( still a big occasion) and I have three young kids and it's a madhouse. I like the solitude at night but like the idea of starting the day with a shave. Maybe one day.

Thanked: 0About half of my shaves are in the morning, and half are at night. I get up about 5:30am - 6:00am after my 7-8 hour Ambien coma. I do try to shave every other day.
As far as autistic children go, my "high-functioning" autistic son will be 13 in a couple of months. I am struggling whether I start him on a straight, or with a safety razor when the time comes. (My wife doesn't even want think about the possibility of him shaving.) I think he can do it, but there will have to be a lot of supervision at the start.

I mostly shave at night simply because I have more time, But occasionally I will make the effort to get up early and shave in the morning just to have that relaxed cope with anything feeling as i walk to work.

Thanked: 0I shave almost exclusively at night because I'm still not entirely sure that I'll finish the shave without injury or irritation on my neck that makes me look like Richard Dreyfus in Close Encounters. I also like to revel in the close shave. I think my clients and coworkers would find the obsessive stroking of my face disturbing. My wife just thinks I'm weird.

+1 for the night shave. I shower before I go to bed so it makes sense. Plus I'd rather not have to rush it in the morning.

Thanked: 1Yup, I have at night because that's when I typically take a shower: before bed.
