shaving at night
I have 2 little ones, one of whom is autistic, and the last thing I need is to have him see me shave with a straight (or at all) and try to imitate dad. So, I have to shave at night when the little'uns are fast asleep.
Who else has to shave at night? Who simply prefers to shave at night?
I think I would shave at night even if I could shave in the morning... more time to devote to shaving mindfully, and no pressure to rush out the door to work. And frankly, I thought I could get away with straight shaving on back-to-back days, but I ended up with a rash of acne on my neck... every other day appears to be the most I can do, and even then, it's more for feel than scruffy appearance.
I'd like to try 3 days between a shave and see how good that goes, but I can't pass up the chance to shave with my straights, haven't had the patience to test that scenario out yet!

I'm pretty sure when I start shaving with a str8 I'm going to do it at night. That way, any mishaps have some time to heal before I get into the office in the AM. I'd rather go to bed with cuts than go to work with them.
I'll do that until I'm really comfortable with it, then may move to the morning shave.

I prefer night just because I can take more time in a more relaxed atmosphere. It sounds like the best solution in your situation as well.

Thanked: 13245Each time of day has it's good points and bad, for you it seems that the choice has been made already... Make the best of it, and enjoy your shave, it is your time after all....
I actually shave at night usually on Thursdays because of our early morning Manager's meeting on Fridays, I enjoy the night time shave just as much as a morning shave, the only difference I see, is that my face is not quite as smooth ATG, as if I had shaved this morning.....

I prefer night anymore. More time to enjoy the experience and experiment. I'm awake (no small consideration when using a straight). I also have a bus to catch in the morning and even a few minutes late can be stressful.

I, too, am a nocturnal shaver. My current work schedule has me up and about as early 0530; and my hands aren't steady and my eyes are bleary that early. So, I wait until I am home at night to shower and shave.

I shave the night before work. It is just easer than doing in the morning.

Afternoon or night time for me too. I am in
no way a morning person. I literally work
three minutes from my house so I get up about
fifteen minutes before I have to be to work.
Gives me enough time to dress and hit the coffee
drive through.
I also have a three year old in the house who likes to
be everywhere I am, so I do it in the afternoon
when he is napping or at night when he's sleeping.

I am not a morning person. I like to shave at night it helps calm me down. Like when I have a bad day at work, today for instance, when I get home it is a nice long shower, lather, strop, lather again, and shave. A little bit of me time in the evening.
