one pass is all it takes for me.

Two passes, one with and one against then off to work.

I'm still shaving with a DE, so I don't know if my opinion counts yet, but i really like to go for the gusto when I have the time to do it. Most mornings i let myself have 30 minutes and can do a 3 pass shave with some touch up and get it darn good.

Today i only had time for 2 passes, and while it still looked good in the mirror, my faceturbation has been completely awful all day. Well, the good thing about shaving is that I get to do it again tomorrow!

Usually one pass for me

Two passes WTG every day for a nice and confortable shave. If a very clean shave is needed I am usually doing a third pass ATG with my DE... so I will say 2.5 too

+1 to that ... and yes, I am obsessive.

I figure every shave is an opportunity to improve my technique, so I get many passes in.

2-3 with the straight, then a few with the DE. After reading here, I will try 2 WTG and 2 ATG. I just get screwed up with any XTG with my hand positioning. I have a chin with a lot of creases bumps and angles and seem to always need a touch up with the DE.


Even with the DE, I am not satisfied with any less than 2 passes ATG. Maybe I am picky. Maybe it is my tough beard. I take my time in the evenings and get my face to the best I can every time. It is usually good enough that I don't need a shave in the AM's.

I always have music when I use my singing blade

I voted two passes, but the truth is I get very close BBS results with that normally. If I've got the time, I'll do an extra, water only, hunt and pack pass and/or pick some music to compliment my ritual. Those are great shaves indeed.
