I dont use a straight but a shavette and a DE but its 2 passes for me...

I can't believe this question was asked of an OC with a retentive bent.
Possibly in the company of others so diagnosed.
We have chosen the non-Norelco life style, you know.

Used to just do 1-2 passes then I joined this site and BBs has become the standard.

Depends on the day and the razor. Most days get 2 passes with a water only touch up in needed areas. It's smooth to the touch, but not bbs.
If it's a special occasion with a good razor though, I'll do three.
