Thanked: 4942Which Razors
I was wondering which of your razors gives you the best shaves and why. I really love all my customs and a few of my older gems. It seems that some razors chase away the whiskers. I don't have to put any pressure at all on the blade when shaving and get a shave with the grain and across the grain that is so smooth, my face is almost sticky when I'm done. Now there are razors that will give me a baby butt smooth shave, but a few of mine hit that just incredible level that has caused me so much RAD throughout the years. In addition to my customs, I have a Boker like this, a Puma, a Waterville and a couple of others. It would be impossible for me to pick one.
This should be an interesting discussion.

My few razors that are in the rotation give a BBS shave, but
the one that really made my whiskers disappear was a
Wostenholm IXL that I restored and sold to a newbie. I couldn't
believe the shave I got from it, and I even honed it myself.
Right now my favorite is a Wade & Butcher that I restored that
belonged to my great grandfather. Shaves just as well as my
others, nothing out of the ordinary, but because of the sentimental
reasons it's my favorite.

Nice pic John, great looking razor!
Without a doubt my 6/8 Clements High Speed Round Point. The razor takes a wicked smooth edge and just glides without effort.

Thanked: 1587Well, my Friodur is always a good bet for a great shave, as are any of my Rodgers, Heljes, and Bengalls - always smooth, no burn, and a nice clean shave.
But the one that always surprises me is the Feist Luna - I've never been able to find out much about this one anywhere, but it is superb: perfect weight, beautiful edge, just glides through the beard with no fuss. I have no idea why it's so good - it's not a looker, that's for sure. But a wonderful shaver.

I got a couple LeGrelot that just seem the best, then a few Filarmonicas and a couple of Henckels.

My collection is small but the one that really seems to hit no matter what is a friodur in (i hate to say it) inox. it hones easy and shaves like nothing else. I have a john barber that Lynn honed at the Ohio meet that is as almost as good.

I have a 5/8 Revisor that leaves me feeling like I've just had the best shave EVER....every time I use it. She's never cut or nicked me and always leaves my face feeling smooth and satisfied. My Dovo Ebenholz runs a close second with some Bokers, Henckels and W&B's not far behind......but the Revisor would win First Place hands down. Just an incredible shave (and honed by Lynn)!!
