Thread: When you first started straight razor shaving

i started out shaving on weekends only because i didnt have time in the mornings during the week now i use my straights as often as possible.

Shaved every day but did not start out shaving whole face. Sorta snuck up on the whole process over a period of time.

I shave 3x a week with a str8.

I voted every day, but it should more accurately be every time, since I only have to shave every other day.

Once per week, on account of being 17 and needing a whole week before there was something worth shaving.

Well I still have not gotten my straight back from sharpening but I think that I will try to go once a day. Trouble is that I can imagine that straight shaving takes a bit more time at first then my double edges do so I might have to get up a little earlier to get the job done.

I put "Every day" but in reality I shave every other day because my beard is both blonde and it doesn't grow fast enough yet to justify shaving every day. Sometimes though I shave WTG and ATG on alternate days, and that works out pretty well.

Wow, Lee; your great great grandfather was a true SRPer before his time!!! Cool.

Aside from a few times in the first few weeks where I absolutely raked my face and my chin pretty much looked like pizza which forced a 3-4 day break, from the beginning I shaved every day with a straight and continue to do so. Long weirdly constructed sentence, but I'm tired and going to bed soon.

Every day.....the first one went really well so I just kept plugging along...........with a shower I usually end up at 40-45 minutes.
