Cool Shaving with the left hand :)

After a week of shaving with my new Dovo, I have come to the conclusion I have no left hand dexterity. My right side of my face clean as a whistle but my left side looks like I got in a fight with a cat...

I hear ya, I am left handed, so the right is trouble for me. But I do use my right hand during shaving, I just go slower, I really try to work on making my the razor work as well in the left hand and the right hand.

Pretty soon you will tame that crazy cat...LOL

Default I cant use my left either!

    Hi,
I only use my right hand for both sides. I tried my left but it felt so unnatural, I just shave the right side first (palm facing my cheek) and then shave my left side (palm facing away), this might be wierd, but it works for me!

When I first started out I did every second shave entirely with my left hand (the others being only with my right). At first it was pretty tricky left hand shaving the right side of my face but after a couple of weeks it felt natural and it's taught me to be able to shave any part of my face with either hand.

Next I may try holding it with my foot

UMMMMMMMM YEAH..... My left hand is pretty much limited to being used as a paw to hold down food on my plate, I don't trust that evil left with sharp blades

But seriously, work on doing more things with your left. Brushing your teeth with your left will help a lot in developing some dexterity. Then, just take your time; you will be surprised at how fast you improve.

Those of us lucky enough to be left handed have to adapt to a right handed world so most of us are pretty ambidextrous so using our right hand for shaving is much easier than for you right handed guys to learn to use your left hand. However if you keep at it you can do it and it really does help in getting an easier shave.

I just shaved tonight and got the perfect shave what a relief and sense of satisfaction. I just took some extra time with positioning the blade, not rushing and it worked out. Thanks everyone.

Good call with the toothbrushing. I'm gonna start doing that with my left hand. I brush in the shower and water is free at my apt (and, for you greenies, I live near the great lakes), so I don't have to rush it.

It's really a matter of patience which can be hard for all us AD guys. Just use the opposite hand from the sideburn to the jaw until it becomes like clockwork. Could take a couple of weeks, but the added dexterity will amaze you beyond the shaving world.

    Have fun,

    Lynn
