moles anyone?
i have been straight shaving for about 6months or so, i still new but am getting some pretty good shaves, much better then any cartridge or DE which is great. one thing that always comes up as a problem is the mole on my upper lip. it is positioned in a very similar spot to Cindy Crawfords and is bumped up just slightly. i used to knick it fairly often with cartridge razors and i haven't knicked it yet but it sure is a pain. i haven't been able to do a full ATG on my upper lip yet without discomfort so i just leave it at the XTG but i just can't find a comfortable way to get around the thing.
does anyone have any tips or experience with something like this. because of where it is there isn't much space between my nose and it ( maybe a blade width) so i usually wait til the water touch up at the end to get around it and it is never smooth.
maybe i'm stuck with having a stubble patch there, which isn't the end of the world but it does suck when i get a great shave and the girlfriend says "oh it is so smooth but you missed a spot on your mole" and then tries to tweexe them which is much more painful then you would think.

There may be other choices but the 3 that come to mind are...
1. Shave over/thru it...which may or may not surgically remove it in the process.
2. Shave around it best you can and perhaps go after the remaining hairs one by one after at the end of the shave using water only so you can see what you're doing.
3. Use a razorless cream (depilatory) around the mole to eliminate the hair...or hot wax...or let your girlfriend tweeze them.

Thanked: 3795This is a question, absolutely NOT a suggestion.
Can facial moles just be sliced off? I had a suspicious one cut off my back, the scar is certainly less prominent than the mole, the one quick slice was virtually painless, and it did not grow back. I'm curious why people don't just have facial moles removed. Is there some reason to avoid having them removed?

I had one about the size of a "BB" (BB gun) removed from above my upper lip about 10 years ago and it hasn't grown back. It made for problems when shaving. The health plan I had at the time paid for it rather than it being denied as a purely cosmetic procedure since I would repeatedly cut it with my DE; because of that it was considered medically necessary.

I have one next to my left ear.. I just go over it. It gets lightly nicked from time to time, but no issues so far. Here in Canada, it's also considered cosmetic and not covered by our public health insurance, but doctors can laser them off for about $20 a pop.

I had one on the side of my cheek. One morning my Dovo Bismarck removed it, free and painless.

Thanked: 74I had one on my cheek that bled for about an hour and a half when I nicked it with my Mach 3 while on vacation in Paris. As soon as I got back to Canada, I got my family doctor to remove it. A little local anesthetic and 2 stitches later I am good to go. Being Canada, I didn't have to pay for anything.
The only downside is that the hair growth pattern around where the mole used to be is a little messed up now. This only makes sense because a portion of skin was removed then the hole stitched together.
