Same for me. water and lather go on the blade. Not the tang or the scales.

Yes. In the name of all that is dear to you: let it fall.
You don't have time to think about it when it happens, so do it now: what do you value more: the ability to use your fingers, or your razor?

If you slice through a nerve or a sinew, you will hurt so much, and you might lose the function of that finger for the rest of your life. Not worth it.

Shaving without any facial hair perhaps? He doesn't have any hair on his face, so calling this a shave is stretching it a bit. For all we know, this thing is blunt.

I once shaved with a log splitting axe that was basically a 64/8 (or something similar) quarter hollow.
It was extremely sharp, very heavy, and difficult to maneuver. I didn't record it, but shaving with that axe qualifies me for extreme shaver.

It went reasonably well, and it used to be a guinness record, but sadly they discontinued the item because it was considered 'too dangerous'...

I was polishing up a blade on my Swaty, which I hand hold, and trying a new grip on the stone. A few passes in, I lost my grip on both the razor and the Swaty. The razor had been in my right hand and the Swaty in my left. I caught the razor by the scales, but the Swaty fell. She now has some small chips on two corners.

As the items were falling, the dollar values and sentimental values of each flashed before my eyes, and I have a feeling that is why I went for the razor. It was my first rescale, and I'd never shaved with her yet. I've also never seen another blade from that maker. Though the Swaty had cost me more money than the razor, they are replacable and, while it is my first (and only) Swaty, it is replacable.

You know what they say about your life flashing before your eyes? It was that fast. The blade fell less than a foot from it's initial height to where I caught it.
