Thread: How much shaved

I am just curious about the members here in regard to the amount of shaving done. I shave my entire face daily with the straight (military), but I know there are folks here that touch up around a goatee or a beard. I also know there are other GI types here that would also have to shave daily. I haven't gone back to any other type of shaving since starting the straight. I did shave with a DE over the weekend though. BIG MISTAKE!! My face is still recovering from that. Other than that transgression I will shave further more with a straight. Anyone go back and forth for say convenience?

Military, entire face daily shave. Unless i have a 2 days off in a row then i don't shave at all.

I shave once a day (morning). Everyday but Sunday. I give my face a rest on Sunday.

DEs have a learning curve, just like straights. I have just recently started straight shaving...well, dipped my toe really. We'll see how it goes...I can't imagine giving up my futur. I love it too much.

I shave my whole face ATG every 2 days. I can get away with it where I work.

i shave with my str8 on my days off which is ever 2-3 days i work from 4 am to 8pm on my work days i use a disposable but i am trying to get away from it but after 16 hours i just want to get in bed

I still have an electric which I hate.But if you get up late or forget about an appointment til the last minute,you can run this thing over your face dry in about a minute or two.Better than showing up someplace looking like a hobo.

Shave the whole face daily. I'm in a relatively conservative office environment.
I try to only use the straight. Today however, I only had one razor stropped up and ready to go, and it was one I honed (badly) for myself. I got through two passes with it, by ATG hurt like hell, so I finished up with a DE instead of going to the drawer and getting another straight, stropping it, and finishing up. On top of that, if I get a crazy close shave, which I do on mondays if I didn't shave all weekend and do a three pass chasing-the-bbs shave, I have a tough time getting a decent shave on Mondays. Straight shaves just alst too long sometimes!

I shave every other day.
If I'm pressed for time I'll use my Dovo Shavette. I use the black insert witch uses the long Dovo Shavette blades. It doesn't compare to my straight but It keeps me using straight razor movements. I'v noticed I get such a great shave with my straight, every other day shaving is good.

Whole face w/ straight, every day. If I'm in a hurry - one pass - otherwise two - the first pass approximately with the grain, the next pass somewhere among the acrosses and againsts. I never mapped the stubble so everything is mostly a guess, but the results are pretty smooth. If the razor keeps bouncing, I figure I'm in the against area.
