Well chaps, sorry to have to report that the attempt failed because I could not get into or out of the bath without help. Nearly slipped & banged the bloody shoulder on the wall Typing one handed now too since I tied the sling a lot tighter.
BTW I do not own a DE. Straights only in this house

I have a friend who was severely injured in an attempted murder. The attack left him partially disabled, and only has 10% use of his left hand. He strictly straight razor shaves using his right hand. He always ends up with a BBS shave. If you are patient and take your time, it's not impossible.
Best of luck,

I had shoulder surgery on my right shoulder. This is what my shave looked like during that period.

There is a You tube of a guy that shaves by inflating his cheeks and lips. Sucks, I have my shoulder operated on after my dislocation. I put my own shoulder in though.

Josh, AKA JLStorm had his shoulder operated on a while back. You might try and PM him for some tips.

Give a trusted other a barber's manual and have them do it

I have pretty poor stretching habits, and always shave with one hand. Hopefully you're right handed, so lather up and grab that strop in your teeth

well, i been disabled with shoulder operation now for 3 months. its really kinda hard for me because im newbie and recieved my 1st razor 1 week after operation. i got too anxious and went( in one armed) shaving and almost lost a gallon of blood from the nicks and cuts the 1st time...the 2nd time i lost 1/2 gallon of blood...the 3rd time i got better and didnt cut/nick myself too badly. well after several attempts i got better but with a price to pay (now i look like freddy krueger. lol). its better to wait til you get more flexible and more range of motion because you can also cause damage to your injury by over stretching (you may tear the labrum, rotator cuff or bicep tendon)..i also use gillettes and merkurs safety double edge razors as my fast/no time to waste shaves. thats what you should do. get a nice gilleette merkur safety edge razor from here or ebay. it's safer both medically and cuts wise.....( i also cut up my new proforma strop by being inpatient)

Thanked: 16Hi Spike,
As you know being diabetic you are prone to frozen shoulders which I get a lot of and can’t lift my arm up as normal, what I have found is if you strap the arm so your hand is just under the chin you can just about manage to use it to stretch the skin or break out the DE or grow a beard which is what I did when both shoulders went on me
