    Default Lathering WTG, ATG . . .

    Gentlemen,

After reading all the learned posts regarding the subject of brushing, I believe I will continue to brush the way I always have: in a tight and small circular pattern. The method has pampered my Hollywood face for a long time, using both badger and boar brushes. And no, I do not own a silver tip.

    Regards,

    Obie

I always lather against the grain, at a 15 degree angle. Then I let the brush "rest" for 24 hours before aligning the bristle striations with a barber hone. I use only the weight of the whisker when I lather up and I always wash the brush in a disciplined x stroke. I find though that the center of the brush always gets the most cleaning action.

I think the best way to lather is to use two brushes, one very coarse and the other very soft. I usually use a ratio of strokes like this 1/5, 1/5, 1/10, etc. I then stack all my brushes in a little pyramid and go to bed.

Seriously from your local skin guru lol Scrubbing to get it into the beard then against the grain to raise the hairs for cutting is the way to go
