It's good stuff. I have been using it for a few weeks and like it so far. Any tips on getting better lather, though? I don't find it as easy as TGQ soaps I have.

I've noticed that when I settle into one soap for several shaves in a row, everything gets better. After reading this I might spend some quality time with the fat. perhaps jumping around from one soap to the next has my face jealous... MWF'll do me good.
I was so impressed with it the first time I used it, my face had never felt so slick and soft after a shave. Big winner. Don't have the bowl though, bought it grated and jammed it into an empty shave stick. works great that way. A big Fat Crayon!

Thanked: 45MWF lathering eluded me until I used an Omega boar brush. Even my Rooney (which I've since sold) couldn't get it going. Any of the Omega boars get it working, and for a fraction of the price of many badger brushes. After a while the tips split and then they're even softer. Works perfectly with MWF.
Any idea where I can get it for under the usual $20 shipped?

I just tried the fat today...well actually yesterday now. First use review I like it! It took a little more water than I expected but no biggie gave a rich thick cream and I like the scent it smells....well like soap irish springy.
I compare its lather to tabac or valobra soft soap but not as good more like 3rd place to those 2. I didn't feel the softened skin like some reported but it was my first use. The slickness was decent and it lasted the whole shave no drying up.
What impressed me was how the lather in the bowl held up, usually I sprinkle a few drops of H2O and whipp the lather in between passes to restore its body but with the fat I didn't have to it just stayed how it was once I got it going.
I think I would have viewed it better had I not already tried tabac or valobra cause now it just seems well decent. I was'nt wowed, going from VDH to tabac is a huge leap while going from tabac to MWF is very nitty gritty not much difference therefore not a huge reaction.
I like it its a good soap if you haven't tried it yet do so but I think for me where I am at now in trying out soaps it's just average. Bare in mind it is my first use it may improve or I may combo it in a superlather and find huge results one never knows ^_^
plus I'm swaying deeper and deeper into the darkside that is menthol
Think I'll give irisch moos and la toja a try next though

For those of you who have lather issues- Glen gave me this advice and it worked. Use HOT water. Not boiling, but still very hot. And I've found more= better, you can always use teh "excess run off" technique while you whip it.
Also i dunno if it helps but I'm using pure badger not silver tip and I have no problems.

Thanked: 25...
I just ordered some of this stuff to try, I'll let you know how it works once I've used it. Will be shaving today so it would great if it showed up today but I don't think so.
