Thank you, Obie, but one in a million I am certainly not! One in about 32,000 (members of the United States Parachute Association - Skydivers, per se) is more truth!

Guts? Adventurism? Sounds like Straight Razor Shaving to me!! LOL!

Ride a motorcycle, jump out of airplanes, shave with straight razors. LIVE life!

I'm just trying to get better tone in my manboobs. I hate it when they are floppy!

And who was saying we're all snooty and stuffy once we start straight shaving? Manboobs, "shrinkage"....we are truly of the people!

I had a shave in the dressing area of a spa/gym not too long ago. I spent about 20 mintues in a eucalyptus steam room, walked over to a lovely large sink with blazingly hot tap water, face lathered (unusual for me, I am generally a scuttle addict), and started shaving a three day beard. BLISS! A very refined older gentleman spent a minute or two watching me. It was jsut starting to get a little uncomfortable when he visibly snapped out of it, walked over to the sinks, and laid out his kit. Dovo 5/8 or 6/8 with some gold, I don't know them well enough to spot the model, simpson brush, a tub of trumpers rose, and coral skin food.
He nodded to me with one of what I refer to as the "CEO wink" and hopped into a fast shower. He got out as I was finishing up my post-shave. He looked like he wanted to chat, but didn't want to break into my pleasant time, so I simply remarked that it was nice to not be the only guy there getting a proper shave. He smiled, and said he was afraid it was a lost art. mentioned that he had bought the razor I looked at a few days earlier, after having not purchased one since 1955!! I told him about SRP, he mentioned he didn't have a computer, so likely wouldn't be joining us. We bid each other a good day, he went about whipping up some lather, and I dressed and met my wife in the lounge.

We were having a nice lunch when I felt a strong hand on my shoulder, and heard "Dear, would you look at the great shave this young man has?" My wife didn't know quite what to make of it, and the gentleman's wife said something along the lines of "Don't bother them, they'll kow you're an old weirdo." To which my wife replied something along the lines of "Oh, no, he's a young weirdo, and I think yours just made mine's day."

We exchanged quick smiles, and they walked out, and I explained to my wife, as I imagine he did as well. It was a wonderful few minutes.

Now THAT is a great story!

I was about to say something about how I don't have the time to go to the gym anymore, but it occurs to me... I don't really have time to shave at HOME, maybe I should MAKE time to go to the gym and do it there...

I hear you - I have two young children and two careers running concurrently and I don't even have time to think so I wait until the hour before bed (after everything else that might otherwise need to be done is done). If I could just tie up the bathroom at work for an hour at lunch without raising eyebrows...
