    Default My Top 3

My top 3 have to be my TI Evant Sonnat 5/8, my SRP TI 6/8, my Weltmeister 5/8, my Hen & Rooster 5/8, and my Dove Special 5/8. I know that's more than three. The point is I like all my razors

Of all of my razors, my Weltmeister seems to be my best shaver. Of course, it has some sentimental allure to it as it used to be my Grandfathers razor.

1st would be an old W&B with scales barely hanging on, blade is so darkened with patina. One would think it's used to open boxes, but it's an awesome shaver.
2nd is an old T. Hessen-Bruch which seems to go around my cheeks like no other.
3rd is probably the SRP razor.

People are losing their minds on ebay. You can't even get a piece of crap for $20 anymore.

I mean last year at this time I won the bid on ebay for a razor not much to look at but it was Swedish steel. I got it for 10 to practice honing. Now even broken blades are listed for more than that.

Hopefully this isn't all attributable to us bidding against each other.

I'm going to stay off ebay for a while, though, I'm pretty sure. I have enough razors and until I get some more storage space, no reason to go crazy.

And there's that SRP razor that I think I 'need' next. The only slight downside with it is that I don't like the scales. Don't know why. I'm sure from what I've heard that the quality of the razor will make it up to me.

    Keith,

I am staying off ebay for a while too. I think the down side of buying on ebay is you are kind of buying semi blind. You can't touch and feel it. That is why you should be paying less than you would in a store. I have seen some prices lately go for more than you would pay in the store. I can understand getting caught up in the heat of the moment but some of these bids go way over what is realistic. What ever. I just figure out what I can afford and bid that if it goes over that good for the seller.

Other than 1 purchase I've made at an antique store, I have yet to touch and examine a razor that I've purchased. Pretty sure I've visited every store here in Milwaukee, and I know of only one that carries nicer soaps/creams. Would be pretty cool to go back in time and have a selection of nice razors that were brand new at the 5 and dime.
