    Jeff,
You're the guy who won the xxxxxx razor? Are you XXXXXXX? If you are, then congratulations and I'm at least half wrong with my accusations.
As far as your question goes, a razor is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, just like on Antiques Road Show. Remember, it's about x years worth of Mach III blades, until they raise the price to push the next razor.

The following day, today, he bid up the price for a different wonderedge that I eventually won.

I was watching that auction too, since I'm in the market for a DD Wonderedge. When I noticed the two bidders with (0) feedback bidding things up, I got suspicious and decided not to bid. The razor looked exceptionally nice and considering what some of the new premium razors go for, it wasn't all that bad in the end. The winner got a very nice razor. In my limited experience on eBay, most Wonderedges go for at least $150 but usually closer to $200.

My best shavers are the ones I bought for under $10 and honed myself with loving care. A razor would have to get up in the morning and make the friggin' coffee to be worth $200 to me.

You know there is some truth to that. I really love this Aevos I got for $20 and got it very sharp with minimal effort. It is still one of my best shavers

Kind of like my DD Dwarf is a better shaver than my Goldedge!

Not to move this thead off topic but when you suspect a shill bidder, look at the seller's previous auctions and such. If there is a suspicion with some of the seller's other auctions, gather the evidence (item numbers, "fake" bidder id's) and report them to eBay. eBay takes this seriously. I've done this before and noticed a difference in the seller's auctions within days of reporting i.e. lower ending prices, less bids, etc.
