Default most difficult part of the face to shave?

i know everyone has their problem areas or whathaveyou.. but i was thinking.. what is the one spot that just drives you nuts.. for many it is the upper lip.. the whole coupe de maitre is near inpossible for most.. then many have issues the their adam's apple area..

for me.. it's the bottom of my sideburns.. not sure why it is.. but i just can't get a good view at where i'm putting the razor.. i actually have to inverse my hand so the tang of my razor is pointing behind me.. otherwise i'm just shaving blind and i end up with uneven sideburns.. anyone else with me on that one?

also.. what is the tough spot for you?

i figure a poll wouldn't work cause there are simply too many options.

My problem lies on the bottom of my neck on the sides of my adam's apple. The hair grows from the bottom up and the inside of the neck out and is impossible to get cleanly shaven.

I mostly nick myself there, have irritation and always have 20 hairs(stubble) left. It's not a stubble per se, it are some loose hairs which can be felt.

I've tried 2 razors, experimented with pressure, angles and how I hold the razor(I can only use the dominant right hand for shaving), but can't get it smooth. It does get better ever so slightly with every shave.

For me it's the right neck just under the jaw bone;like brick, I am not ambidexterious and must shave right hand only. The way the beard grows, I just can't seem to get an angle without slicing myself open that gets it smooth enough. It looks clean, but I can feel it and it drives me nuts.

As for the sideburns, I might have your problem if I had them, but I go with none at all, so it's easier to do. I just soap up to the level I want to cut them at and go ATG.

No areas challenge me anymore. During the top of the technique curve, my final challenge were the sides of the adams apple and at that time, I was able to get a decent BBS shave there where you could rub it from 3 sides and it was perfect, but rubbing it ATG, you could still feel it a little. Technique, trial and error over came this small area challenge.

I know exactly how you feel. I can stand the hollows of my neck. You cant see them very well, and if you make the attempt to shave the angles blind, it seems you always need the friendly styptic to laugh at you by cauterizing on the spot and burning the whole time.

common theme here too....sides of the adams apple....the hair grows out towards my ear. I can get it smooth except directly against the grain. I have no idea how anyone can go ATG as the blade is too long to directly right to left or left to right so I'm stuck going at more of an angle. It works fairly but without that straight ATG I imagine I'll have to live with it.

I'm with Pabster on this. The knob of the chin and the hollows on either side of the windpipe are still the toughest whiskers but over the years I've learned the stretching techniques and blade angles to overcome the difficulty. It really does become easier the longer you practice it. IME anyway.

The knob of the chin for me. Matter of fact, last Saturday I almost cut it in half. Nasty nick from a frame back. I have not had a shave since just to let it heal.

I think the toughest part is definitely the chin.
No matter how I attack it, I cannot win.
WTG, XTG, and ATG ad infinitum, it's cryptic,
and how else to rhyme in the word, 'styptic'?

The chin is so round and defying of angles,
we look at it and ponder as our razor dangles,
poised to hack away at the stubble on our chins
and off we go as the bloodletting begins.

Go ahead, do your extended shave prep and lather,
or take a hot shower, use hot towels if you'd rather.
It won't matter if you can pass the TNT, TPT, or HHT.
Shaving your chin will always a nightmare be!

Upper lip. Four days ago I managed to put a nice cut just below the right nostril - still hasn't healed properly to shave over it. Have to work around it until it's healed enough. To make matters worse, the allergies are kicking up and I'm constantly blowing my nose and it seems to just aggravate the cut. Taking more doses of allergy medicine is drying me up, hence, speeding up the healing process.
