Thanked: 170Started in the 50's with a DE. Later went to an electric. Went "full beard" in the 80's. Went back to DE when I went to mustache and goatte (sp?). See above for switch to straight. I'll stay with the straight - I like the sustainable aspect of it, although, let's see - 8 straights, so far, strop, 5 stones - hummm - I may not actually be saving money! But I sure am having fun!
Peace-

Thanked: 983I can count on both hands the times I used an electric. Guess I'm just a slow learner though.

Age 64 here. I started at 19 with a DE razor and later went to a SE injector then back to DE razor. At 30 I tried using a straight (my grandfather had shown me how many years before) but due to the limited access to info and supplies I dropped the idea fairly quickly. I eventually ended up using the multiblade disposables which I really didn't like for many reasons. About 18 years ago I went back to the straight razor with occasional use of a DE just for variety. The internet has been a boon to wet shaving and straight razors in particular.

I started shaving with my stepdad's DE back in 1969....then moved to shaving with a straight back in 1974; did it for a while and then lost interest due to being hired by the FBI (Female Body Inspector) I started again a few years ago; have not lost interest; oh, I was forgetting nowdays I don't work for the FBI anymore...the wife made sure of that.HOG

I started last November, at the age of 31, sure wish I had done it earlier.

Started last year at 27. Loved every minute of it... Except the early stages of cat scratch fever! Still learning and enjoying.
