Thanked: 18On account of how slow my beard grows, I only started shaving regularly January of 2010 (aged 22), with a DE safety-razor. In August of 2010, I started straight-shaving fulltime. So that's nearly a whole year now.

I started at 26 and I wish I'd started with them when I was 15! It would have saved me a lot of hassle and grief.

I started at 36. Had an interest in straight shaving a few years prior to that but never found the time to do anything about it.

I was 34 when I first took it up and continued for a couple of months and then gave it up. Came back to it 25 years later and have been steady getting it ever since. Better late than never.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 20I started just after I my 23rd Birthday. I was considering getting a straight for a few months prior to that but never had the extra bit of cash to go for it. I had planned a weekend to Niagara falls with SWMBO and with the bit of money I had recieved from family for my birthday since no one knows what to buy you I went to the casino and won enough for my first set up and part of the trip. It was a great weekend.

It's awesome to see so many people in their early 20's who are keeping this art alive. I started this year (age 35), but wish I had done it sooner.

I started May 1, 2010 at age 50. I wish I'd discovered it years ago!
