Thread: How many razors in you rotation?

I have been wondering for a long time how many razors have the average SRP member (if there is such a thing as an average member!) in their rotation. I haven't been shaving with a straight razor for a very long time and I've already got 52 and I'm still keeping an eye for more. Is this number too excessive?

I have two right now, a primary I use every day and a back-up I use maybe once a month.

I have 14, and I'll probably whittle that down to 10 or 12. They are all blades that I've watched for and would like to have. I think having 500 would be pretty neat too, but I feel an odd sense of intimacy with each of mine. I know how they all shave, and often I pick the razor based on my mood or how my skin feels that day.

I'm a bit more practical. I have 6: 5 shave ready & 1 to restore.

I might be a bit of a weirdo but I now have 7 instead of a whole lot and feel happier as before.

I currently own 4 straights. I would like to get to seven. I will be more than happy at 7. cool post man

I'm not much of a collector. I currently have 14 in my rotation, all of them top tier, well respected brands in varying sizes, grinds and points. Seems like a good number, many more than that would risk losing the "intimacy factor" that Maxi was talking about.

Apart from shavettes I currently own & use 4 razors
1. 9/16 Case Temperite Wedge
1. Thiers. Issard 11/16 le grelot like xtra thick grind
1. Spanish Barber. 11/16 full hollow square point(just like a filly)
1.Paul za za 5/8 silver steel nos full hollow (this has surprised me & made me revise my opinion of full hollow blades)
