Thanks for the tips. I guess if I do not like it I can always keep it with all the other shavers I do not use.

I personally used 5/8 and 6/8 only. I like the maneuverability of 6/8. Wish to try 7/8, or perhaps acquire one in the nearest future.

I found one of these at a antique mall last weekend. Mine has a little more smile at the toe, but otherwise identical. I cleaned it up and will hone it this week.

    I've never owned a 7/8. If I find it's too much of a handful I'll sell it.

i prefer 6/8 and bigger. 5/8 is too light and small for me.

LoL. Well just to be contrary – I don’t like em bigger than 5/8 myself.

Downside of blades smaller than 7/8: Is not green, wastes water, (rinsing) wastes time, (rinsing) potential damage to blade from multible faucet exposures (rinsing) 7/8+++ rules.

Rinse once at the end. Until then wipe. I have from 3/8 to 6/8 and they all get rinsed the same way.
Btw, I prefer 6/8 down to 4/8, and that's a big difference in its own right.

I think the big blades are great to look at, and easier to work on. But I usually shave with a 5/8. I stropped a 7/8 wedge and definitely didn't feel like I had more control of anything. Seemed like the weight of the blade had control. I don't know. I shaved with it once, and put it on the shelf. I love staring at it. But I don't shave with it at all. Same goes for two hollow ground 7/8's I own. They just sit there looking cool.

I am new to sr shaving but have fast become a fan of 6/8 razors. I have yet to try the 7/8 - but will.
