I have 5/8-15/16 and I find I notice more of a difference in overall blade length(heel to toe), some of the longer blades make it kind of a pain to shave my face since my cheekbones and jawline have pretty tight corners. Shaving across the grain on my cheeks for example with a longer blade takes longer because I have to pay more attention or the center of my blade wont even touch my skin, sometimes I puff my cheek a tiny amount to make it flat. I've seen people cruise right from cheek or chin down past their jawline to the neck(Charlie's video of him using a one piece razor comes to mind), I cant do that either, my jawline is a logistical nightmare to shave and a long blade makes it harder to maneuver.

On a semi related topic, I shaved with a DE for the first time in 6 months and was baffled by how simple it was to get whatever angle I needed, but maneuverability wont trump the joy of a straight.

Ok, there are Eight Eighths or 8/8 to one inch. So if you were to measure the blade from spine to edge as a part, or whole of one inch, you will get a part i.e 5/8th's of an inch or a whole i.e 8/8th's or one whole inch. Blades larger than one inch are still measured by the rule of eight equal subdivisions except now we might say 9/8th's (9/8) or 10/8 etc. Hope that helps. If I've only added to the confusion, I'm sorry.
