    Default New Bokers

I purchased a Boker Edelweiss from SRD and I had my first shave with it this morning. All I have to say is WOW !!! I had 3 days worth of growth and it just went through it like a hot knife going through butter. This sucker is crazy sharp. Its is a 5/8 round point with no jimps, I think im a fan of jimpless razors. The blade just feels solid in my hands and i really appreciate that. The Bone scales look like 2 pieces of pina colada candy. The pictures on the SRD website do not do this razor justice. It is a wonderful piece and i would highly recommend this straight to anyone. You can't beat the price either. This is my second Boker from SRD and i think i am a new Boker Fan.

My other Boker is the 2012 Boker Arbolito from SRD. This guy is a work of art Beautiful engraving on the blade that says Boker Arbolito with a 5/8 spanish point, Jimpless with plastic scales that have great inlays in the middle and at the bottom, one thing i do wish is that the scales were just a tad thicker it tends to bend a little in your hands. The blade on this one also feels solid and heavy. This one shaves like a dream too. I have 2 Dovos in my rotation but i have to say i look forward to the morings when the Bokers are up to bat. Thank you SRD for honing my new razors and for the speedy delivery to okinawa, Japan.

I have one of the new Boker 6/8 Silver Steel "Extra Hollow Ground Warrranted" from another vendor, and it's a great shaver. BTW, there's a video on Youtube titled "Rasiermesser". It's all in German, but in it they visit Boker and Heribert Wacker. It's interesting that Boker appears to be hand-forging the steel ingots that are then machine-forged into blade blanks. In contrast, Dovo cuts coils of steel strip into pieces and uses it to form their blanks with the same kind of machinery.

    Gentlemen,
I have had several new Bokers and loved the shave. Of course, they were honed by the master himself, Lynn. Good shavers.

i have a Boker 4/8 extra hollow and a silver steel 6/8 extra hollow which is so sharp i couldnt recommend it to somebody inexperienced, gorgeous, dead easy to set the bevel on these, no factory edge thank goodness i wish Dovo would stop confusing people new to honing by putting this factory edge on there razors giving false positives before a workable bevel is set, must be a buseness reason for it,selling there useless strop paste i expect which takes any razor further away from a perfect bevel,so is actually counter productive,i better say in my opinion even though it is correct.

I've been eyeballing a new Böker Elite, but the seemingly difficult to find horn scales, which are preferred to the carbon fiber variant.

After some great insight on the quality of new Bökers, the razor has moved towards the top of my list! Kudos

@wayne394 I called into SRD earlier this afternoon, but couldn't get through to inquire whether more Elites with horn scales are on their way.

Since it'll end up in Lynn's hands for a honing regardless, I will probably just wait until they are back in stock... looking forward to joining the brotherhood!

I have one of the few Boker Damascus that were made. One heck of a shaver.
