Thanked: 443That is a DFC (Darned Fine Cut) you got there! My spikes do the same to me. That Wosty reminds me of a description I read of a sled dog in Winterdance by Gary Paulsen. Paulsen and another musher were trying to break up a fight between their teams and the other guy was holding his lead dog behind him so Paulsen's team could get past, and the dog was literally shredding his ass. Nylon, goose down, wool, blood, all over the place. "Why do you put up with that," Paulsen asked the guy. "Because I've never seen his tug go slack," the guy answers. Later during the Iditarod Paulsen thinks about that dog again, and realizes that he would willingly feed his ass to such a puller.
I've had one edge, honed by Pinklather on his Asagi, that wouldn't cut skin but was a wonder on hair. I've yet to achieve such an edge on my own hones. What is your TI honed on?
Happy healing to you.Last edited by roughkype; 09-12-2012 at 11:34 PM.

We may have the same issue. I have given up on going with the grain on my cheeks with any razor regardless of the toe geometry. It turns out I have wide jaws which are not apparent in the least. All passes are made mouth to ear or ear to mouth.
This wide jaw issue became apparent at the dentist when I needed a mold made of my lower jaw. Not even the largest mold plate would fit. It was a "ah ha" moment and the lightbulbs went on.
Just my experience. ymmvIf you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Thanked: 580Man i wish i seen this thread 2 months ago, literally took a fillet off my face right beside my lip. there was a chunk of meat on the blade you could have fried up. Didn't even leave a cool scar, just looks like a crater, finished my shave though.BTW where do you purchase the Orion slave girls, i want three.

I've always used both hands for shaving. Tonight I tried using just the right hand. One of those slow motion moments as I moved the blade to the left cheek and instead of shaving just sort of stuck it in whilst watching myself do it. Sigh.
On the plus side it was an evening shave.

Hooray! I was hoping this thread wasn't dying!
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?
