I have a G20 and enjoy it greatly. I've gone one step further to try to keep warm lather warm to the end of the shave. At the local Goodwill store (charity shop, second hand store) I found a small hot plate, about 4 1/2 inches across. Probably was used to keep a cup of coffee or tea warm or to warm a bowl of aromatic herbs, etc. When I start my shower I turn the plate on, load the G20 with the hottest tap water I can get, fill the bowl and soak my brush till done with shower, ready to start a shave.

I was thinking about trying something similar. I've also toyed with the idea of maybe boiling a kettle of water and using that, but that's bringing a trip to the kitchen into the equation, and I would probably burn the crap out of myself anyway. Also, our hot water is about 65 degrees out of the tap, so hot that I actually have burned myself by rinsing a blade and putting it back to my face, so I probably won't have such an issue.
Hot plate's a cool idea, though. When I move back stateside and have an actual bathroom counter, I may try it.
EDIT:
Alas, the scuttle was not in the box this morning. I did however recieve a shipment of 2 tubes of Musgo Real shave cream (Oak Moss and Spiced Citrus), a bottle of Handmade Soap Co. Shave Balm (which smells weird, but seems to work fine), a bottle of TOBS Shaving Shop cologne, and a replacement for my near empty bottle of TOBS preshave oil. All in all, not a bad haul this morning. Crossing my fingers that the scuttle gets delivered this afternoon.Last edited by vmathis12019; 10-16-2013 at 11:22 AM.

Four package slips in my mailbox this morning. Guess how many of them were new shaving scuttles!? Freakin' NONE! I'm getting a tad annoyed. The thing shipped 9 days ago. Priority Mail never takes this long to get here. Maybe this afternoon/tomorrow... Sad face.

Ah, but the joy of when they finally do arrive. You will like the heft of the G12. You will feel kinship with the G12. You will have to be careful to not name your G12. You can but don't utter her name aloud where you can be heard or fate will hear and send you to a nice place that takes care of srt8 users and their fixations. (Signed, loony 1234)

I know all about that place. I visit it often. Three of the four packages were shaving products (a new strop, my bottle of Truefitt and Hill balm, and a Grooming Loung travel kit). The fourth package was a DVD of Wynton Marsalis and Willie Nelson playing live in Manhatten. I love the internet...haha

Sorry in advance for the continued double taps on this post.
Spoke with the lady at the post office today. Apparently all surface shipments were delayed by a week due to the government shutdown (military mail is apparently the only part of USPS that runs on appropriated funds and they ran out of money to gas the planes/trucks). That said, an item that shipped a day after the scuttle using the same shipping method arrived yesterday evening, so I expect to see this thing soon. At this point, I'll just be glad to be in possession of the damned thing regardless of whether or not it actually works.

All the more the anticipation, all the more the satisfaction when you see the mounds of suds it will produce with ease (but you know, soap/cream, type of water, any additives to soap/cream of choice and patience level apply here). And if you think you are getting hyper over waiting, just a few minutes ago the mail delivered two C_MONs I've been waiting for and four lesser razors from my honer. Quandary, I've waited to shave this morning since I knew they would come and now WHICH ONE DO I CHOOSE! Insanity move over, I'm well past you in the depths of despair (the only sure decision I ever made was to agree to my divorce many years ago.)

I'm no even married, but I've already agreed to my first divorce...haha
And I get it for sure. I've completely rearranged my shaving nook to make room for it. and already figured out exactly where I'll keep it during my shaves. I'm seriously contemplating wearing civilian clothes tomorrow to work and saving the shave for the evening just in case it comes in tomorrow afternoon. I just want warm lather! I even stropped up the Robert Klaas tonight for tomorrow! It's my coolest razor!

Its so nice to communicate with a fellow addict. If you want really hot lather, get that little hot plate and then get some water boiling in a teapot or whatever, fill the G, plug it if it comes with a plug (or find a wine cork), fill the bowl and soak your brush in it while you shower. Then proceed to the next best thing than......you get the idea. Enjoy!

Still no dice. Anybody read about a USPS plane crashing in the Atlantic in the last week?!
