Thanked: 1371Powder Coated my Merkur 1906
I got a powder coat gun and oven for a different project.
For giggles, I thought I'd try it out on my Merkur 1906. I don't use it much, so I figured if I screwed it up, I wouldn't be out much.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
I also powder coated a straight, but that still needs scales and I have to see how sharpening goes.
That's a thread for tomorrow...
Anyhow, here's my candy red Merkur 1906:

That is the cooolest thing I have seen in a while, I like it a lot. The red and chrome go well together.

That looks stunning. Does it effect the shave at all?
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Thanked: 1371I am not sure about affecting the shave. I don't think it will, since I didn't do anything with the bar, but I have not shaved with it yet.
Here's a teaser for tomorrow's thread:

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 31About what temperture does the oven get to? I do like the idea very much. A lot of possibilities! As long as temper isn't effected, might be a great way save some severely pitted blades. Good luck!
