Thanked: 884Scales on the Griffin might be hard rubber. It oxidizes and turns ugly and dull. I've polished several back to shiny black with nothing more that Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish.
Stinks a bit, but that goes away with the dull.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Thanked: 6I usually hit scales with a quick buff of metal polish but I had no clue what these were and I could just see in my mind's eye the scales melting away with a puff of smoke and the voice of McBain in the background going: "Ze goggles! Zey do nassing!"
