Never seen an EBRO. I like my IXL quite a bit. Wostenholms made some nice steel. Not sure if they are related.
    Cheers on the nice score!
Mike I have a George Wostenholm EBRO & an Alfred Williams EBRO. Here's the Alfred Williams with my W&B which are both similar. The Alfred Williams says "Lather Well, You'll Shave Better". The W&B says "You Lather Well, I'll Shave Well". They are both post 1891 so I suspect they were made around the time period & were in competition with each other:

I've asked before and not got an informed reply as to why "EBRO" has been stamped on some razors. It is a river in Spain from what I can find out. Maybe it implies they where made with Spanish steel, the same as Philharmonicas.

That makes as good a reason as any for the markings. Funny how it spans makers.
    Thx.

Interesting, I've got one that's marked, "ECHO", a James Barlow razor.

Wow, another ECHO. I wonder how many makers used that? And it's a 3 pin too but the scales don't look original so someone might have added that.
Great score Andrew. I only have 2-3 James Barlow. They aren't as plentiful as others.

I know I have hardly any posts here at all. Actually it's my first. But I finally have time to chime in. For Father's Day I just ordered up a Hart Steel 6/8 Square Point in Polished with Cocobolo Scales. I'm very curious how it shaves, since I have very coarse facial hair. It takes my Feather AC DX to do the job over my Dovo Full Hollow Ground. Same goes for my Dylan Farnham with it's full ground. I think they flext too much. Plus my DF stone age razor is not easy to hold and maneuver with. So I kept hearing great things on Hart Steel. So I'm giving it a try. Obviously I can't compare cutting to a Feather, but as far as a traditional shave, I need a good razor to glide better than my Dovo with the coarse hair. Pretty excited to try it.

I have the same blade with mat finish and shaves well on my very thick mustache and chin whiskers, once I got it honed. I find it gets water stains easily so take care to dry it well and oil between uses but that could just be the mat finish. I also muted the point as it had cut me badly a couple of times.

I'm actually planning to mildly mute the point as well. The round point hart was too round for my taste. Muting it just enough to not nick as easily. Got the polished blade cause I polish all my knives and everything I can to be like a mirror. Just an enjoyment of mine.
