I am a little older than you and did renovations a lot too. They loaded products with asbestos for many decades and only stopped putting it in in the late 80's but knew the hazards in the 50's. It makes me wonder why they said little or nothing and did little or nothing for 30 plus years.

Shaun, it scares me. I've been working with the same general contractor since I was 18. 36 now, and there's no doubt in my mind I've inhaild my fair share of it. Wasn't until the last 10 years anyone made me aware of it. I did research on the internet so I could identify it, and where it was used in different building materials. We have a Co-Op student who's 17. Just like me when I was his age, pretty new and wouldn't have the slightest idea if I was working with asbestos. At least when he's with me, he'll have a HEPA filter on.

All full hollow. Was a bit surprised how thin the grind is on the Bengall.

The blade looked straight in the pictures on ebay, and everything looked even and that was the deciding factor on me bidding on it. Not bad for under $20 shipped. I've passed over quite a few on ebay due to the information I have read on this site and others on what to look for.
