Two dozen barber towels showed up this afternoon and I've got a bottle of Chatillon Lux's Taum Sauk on order. Unfortunately Shawn at Chatillon Lux emailed me to let me know that he's out-of-town until Sunday. That's a bummer since I'm used to getting his aftershaves in very short order since he's in St. Louis.

One layer of 3M 77 tape. Bevel set on 1k Chosera then up the Super Stones progression: 3, 5, 8, 10, and 12. I alternate between finishing on the 12k Naniwa and an Escher. Either way, that razor always comes up with a sharp, smooth edge. Refer to Gissixgun's 3-part Naniwa honing videos up on YouTube for honing specifics (light slurry diluting to clear water on each hone).
I bought my Flowing in January 2012 (my first razor) and certainly paid north of $300 for it. Awesome to hear you got such a great deal on yours.

Thanked: 104Thanks Speedster, we have the same taste in stones as razors! I also use the identical progression as you, except I don't own an Esther. But either the Gok 20 or my Ozuku could fill in. I'm at my grandkids house at the moment (sat morning my time) and amazingly the razor arrived at my home yesterday. Took only 24 hours from time of order to get there, so it's waiting for me, and I won't be back home till Monday, so I'm hanging out to get a look at it.
Cheers Bob

Thanked: 4828Not shaving related, but these showed up today. It is funny the things that you can't get in a small town.

In most any town, Those would be ordered, I assure you. Fast if you live near a warehouse with them.
Where the warehouse is and where Shaun lives......Another story!

Thanked: 4828True story, there is a price to pay for living in paradise. I am pretty happy to pay that price.
I could not live in a city, they are fine to visit and I understand that many of you don't mind living with millions of your friends close at hand, I just like to have to order stuff. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 104Fellas, I live in a spot called Port Stephens on Australia's east coast, 200 k' north of Sydney. It takes three days to get something from Sydney to here. I admit though, I have bought things from Fendrihan in Canada, that took five days, and most of the stuff I buy from Aframestokyo takes seven days. But postage cost is a killer. $40 USD from Hawaii is like over $50 in my money. So down here at the bottom of the world, we usually wait a while for stuff. So this Dovo Flowing came from Melbourne (in another state, about a 1000 miles from me), and to have it arrive next day, is amazing.... Lol
