Not too shabby. Certainly not the worst "first post" ever made on here .

Welcome aboard! You have obviously been lurking & reading for a bit, but you should consider making an introductory post in the Member Introduction section. We don't bite, that's what we have spike-point razors for .

I'm not planning on getting heavily into honing anytime soon, but do want to be able to maintain what I have and have started experimenting with Pasted Strops and Barbers Hones.

I came across a lot of hones that are supposed to be among the best and ended up getting them - A Lakeside, ItsaPeech, and a Panama

And I still have a batch of soap from the Italian Barber site that is on the way

I’ve got an eBay lot with three blades headed my way. They all look like they should clean up nicely.

    Nice score

If you aren't an experienced honer you might contact Oz who is in Sydney who might be able to help you get an excellent edge off of that blade. PM me if you don't know how to get in touch with him.

That might be a good option, I'm new at the game of razors and already my overconfidence has become obvious. Will take you up on your offer.

Nice scope! How do you manage to get clear 500x magnification views with a handheld contraption?

Well, it comes with an adjustable stand like a microscope. From other reports, the 500x may or may not be very close to the truth. I would guess that one with a greater pixel count may be better. the one on order is a 2MP and some are 5MP.
Should be here by the time New Year's hangovers are done with!
