And I still have a batch of soap from the Italian Barber site that is on the way
They look better than I expected in real life. The pictures are from before I cleaned them up wish soap and water. Itsapeech is in almost perfect shape, while the Panama and Lakeside have a nick or two, but have a lot of good surface space and don't show signs of the binding breaking apart either.

Tested the Lakeside last night with a razor that I'd used until it felt pretty dull and got a very smooth and close shave off of the blade, without stropping in between honing and shaving.

Just received a Union Cutlery Co., "Spike" razor in pretty good shape. Nice little modern wedge blade with almost zero hone wear. Just needs some cleaning and a trip to the hones. These little modern wedges are reliable workhorses!

I have an SRD long English bridle strop, and some Eton College aftershave, landing before Christmas.

A couple of nights ago, after an exceptionally rough day at work, and an elevated blood-alcohol content, I found myself checking one of my online "honey holes". A razor was going to end while I was at work the next day, and it was still barely more than the opening bid. So I did the online auction version of an "impulse buy", and put in a low-ball bid of a couple bucks more than the current bid.

To be filed under "my bid was lower than the shipping & handling charges from a few states away"...

I was worried about the size, but the hone wear is minimal. I guess it was a modest size from the start.

This is probably the only reason I considered bidding at all...

It comes with the original box, complete with handwritten date of grinding!!! That's as close as you'll ever get to a birthday for any vintage razor, IMO! None of my Genco's will have such an honor .
