I feel completely normal now. Three strops well that is totally normal. I have two hanging strops. One of them has CrOx on the linen. The other is just linen and leather. I also have an SRD paddle strop. Diamond spray on felt for the paddle strop.

I knew three strops was normal. Thanks Phrank!

    =============

Oh yeah almost forgot: in the mail>

    - Tabac AS, Tabac Cologne, Tabac Deodorant (all ready have the soap).

    - Small acrylic brush and blade holder for the road.

    - Small double wall stainless steel shave soap cup for the road.

    - Small travel sized bottles for AS and Moisturizer for the road.

    Best,

    Ed

I routinely badger myself and the shaves are improving!

Finally found the one I want at a great price. It's going to be faithfully restored with original parts.

Well, like anything, you don't NEED this one vs. that one. You can strop on just about any leather, right? But just like how a $30 workhorse razor can deliver a shave just as well as a Mastro Livi, it comes down to style. You might like the way one looks over the other. You might like how it feels. But most important is how it makes YOU feel. But all that said, there are quality differences in how one might be constructed over another. But these strops are only as necessary as you make them. But I will add that the quality of the leather on my Tony Miller is really high. NO imperfections, bumps, or veins in it all. An absolute perfectly smooth surface.

    On its way from SRD:

    Chosera 1K
    Naniwa 12K
    Hone holder
    ... and a mustache comb

Expanding on my Norton combo set and barber hone collection.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Not quite in the mail yet, but will be shortly.
Just a few teasing facts for now:
    500 year old steel.
From a real broken Samurai sword in Tamahagane.
Converted into a killer straight by one of our fine artisans.

Golly, customs like this still makes me all tingling inside
    MattCB and mglindo like this.
    Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

A NOS Hayashi diamond 888 with translucent "smoke" scales.
I think the NOS Rosette 40 Ribbon razor that I bought last month(I haven't had time to take any pictures yet, sorry) has infected me with a special Japanese strain of RAD that makes me extra susceptible to Japanese western style razors.

I don't think there's a cure but I think the best treatment for the symptoms at the time would be to get one of those Japanese western style shorties with an upwards angled tang and those double curved scales(See this post by Undream for an example: http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...-rescaled.html). That would have to wait though because if I keep buying razors at this rate, I'll be broke very soon.
